Since starting my freelancing business in 2021, I have worked with over 30 different charities. Naturally, my success rates can vary depending on the type of cause, their history of fundraising & the length of time I work with them. However, here are my rates from collating several charities together:
21/22: ROI 1/5.82 Mean
(for every £1 I was paid, I raised £5.82 in return)
Success Rate = 1 in 2.89 Mean
(for every 2.89 applications I sent out, 1 was successful)
22/23: ROI = 1/5.3 Mean, Success Rate = 1 in 4.53 Mean
23/24: ROI = 1/6.45 Mean, Success Rate = 1 in 3.5 Mean

To put this in context, Pre-Covid, most fundraisers would quote a rate of around 1 in 4 for success rates. In 2024, many are quoting 1 in 10 as the landscape has become much more competitive since Covid.
As for ROIs, most charities would expect 1/4 as reasonable (again, more debatable in today's climate).
As demonstrated, I have consistently exceeded this.

To maximise the benefit I can bring to an organisation, I would normally recommend a minimum contract of 1 day per week for 6 months. Naturally, these days can be delivered flexibly so more days in busier weeks & less in others.
